Who is the Omaha Corgi Crew?
At its inception in December 2011, the Omaha Corgi Crew was not much more than a group of friends who all shared a love of vertically-challenged herding dogs with big hearts. As the name suggests, the Omaha Corgi Crew is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and the surrounding area.
We are not a rescue, nor a breeder, but our community membership includes both. We advocate and assist in the purchase, adoption, and responsible re-homing of our favorite breed. If there is a corgi or mix in our area in need of a loving home, we’re happy to step in and help out.
We also enjoy gathering together multiple times a year for philanthropic and fundraising missions directed toward small, local rescues. Though our legs may be short, we have big hearts.

Fundraising for Rescues
Each year, we select local small-base rescues to support through various events and fundraising merchandise. These rescues are often underfunded and overlooked by “big” donors, so we work our booties off to give them some extra love. As we corgis are a short-legged breed, we can relate to being overlooked because of our size.
A Growing Community
Maybe one day the stars will align and allow us to become an official nonprofit, but for now, we will continue to grow as a community of passionate, caring animal people - some 3,200 strong (as of September 2024), and do what we can to help our fellow doggos.
We attend many events every year, but one of our largest fundraising events is the Omaha Corgi Races. The Grand Champion chooses the rescue to receive the proceeds from entry fees, vendor registrations, and OCC merch sold at the races.
